The hits keep coming amid Viacom’s wide-ranging restructure. Sources confirm to Deadline that Dennis Maguire, who has been President of Worldwide Media Distribution at Paramount Pictures since 2011, is exiting the studio. His departure continues the wave of job losses that have hit Paramount, Nickelodeon and MTV this week.
Maguire was oversaw the global sales, marketing and distribution of DVD, digital, VOD and TV licensing of studio content on all platforms. He also worked to build on Paramount’s business interests in Russia and China through respective partnerships with Universal and Warner Bros. He joined the studio in 2006 as President of Paramount Home Entertainment International and was upped to President of Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment Worldwide three years later. Before joining the Melrose Avenue studio, Maguire spent 23 years at Disney’s home entertainment unit, where he was part of the senior management team that launched the sell-through business.
