More executive streamlining as part of the ongoing restructuring at Viacom. MTV, which underwent a round of layoffs as part of the company-wide cost-cutting measures, is consolidating its programming development efforts. The network is ending the long tradition of West Coast and East Coast development, with the network’s 18-year veteran Lauren Dolgen named Head of Reality Programming and EVP of Series Development. Dolgen was most recently Head of West Coast Reality and EVP of Series Development.
Under Los Angeles-based Susanne Daniels, President of Programming for MTV, there had been a shift toward the West Coast, accelerated by the 2013 departure of New York-based Chris Linn, EVP of Programming and Head of Production.
