EXCLUSIVE: Dolphin Digital Media has announced that its new series South Beach will begin streaming on Hulu Wednesday, July 29. The 6-episode series, set in the affluent Miami, Florida neighborhood, follows the aftermath of a murder that appears to signal the return of a serial killer thought killed two decades earlier. As the invesigation proceeds, a complex web of crime, greed and betrayal ties together rival drug lords, bitter conflicts within the music industry, local politics and law enforcement.
South Beach stars Ana Villafañ as “Carmen Suarez”, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood as local nightclub owner “Samantha Lear”, Manny Montana as A&R executive “Octavio Cruz”, and Jordi Vilasuso as “Isaac Santero”. Rounding out the cast are Arlene Tur, Marc Menard, Deniz Akdeniz, Eddie Finlay and Steve DuMouchel. South Beach is directed by Joshua Caldwell, with Brain Hurtwitz writing. AOL will partner digitally with the production, debuting exclusive content in advance of the show’s premiere.
